Our Heritage

From Automotive Trading to an Integrated Commercial Vehicle Group

1988

Our Beginning — Japan

The Group’s journey began in Japan with the establishment of Asahi Company Ltd., founded by the A.M.M. Brothers as a vehicle trading enterprise. What began as a focused automotive business laid the foundation for nearly four decades of sustained growth and international expansion.

1998

International Expansion — Sri Lanka

The Group expanded into Sri Lanka through Ganga Traders, followed by the establishment of Fuji Lanka Private Ltd. and Fuji Corporation. Together, these businesses strengthened the Group’s capabilities in vehicle trading, automotive parts and international sourcing.

2001

Entering Africa — Botswana

The Group extended its international presence into Africa with the establishment of Zaweeka in Botswana, further developing its overseas vehicle sales and distribution network.

2006

Establishing Our Philippine Operations — Subic Bay

The Group entered the Philippine market through Asahi Group International Corp., establishing operations within the Subic Bay Freeport Zone. This milestone laid the foundation for the Group’s long-term growth and development in the Philippines.

2011

Expansion into Commercial Trucks — Philippines

Building on its extensive automotive experience, the business expanded into the commercial-truck sector, operating under Asahi and New Asahi. This marked a significant evolution from general vehicle trading into a specialized commercial-vehicle enterprise, eventually growing to five branches within the Subic Bay Freeport Zone alone.

2018

Acquisition of Japan Body Manufacturing — Thailand

The Group acquired Japan Body Manufacturing from Thailand and renamed the operation Asahi Japan Body Manufacturing (AJBM). This acquisition strengthened the Group’s capabilities in truck-body fabrication, modification and customization, enabling it to deliver more comprehensive commercial-vehicle solutions—from sourcing and importing trucks to preparing them for their intended applications.

2019

Expansion into Central Luzon — Bacolor, Pampanga

The Group established its Bacolor Showroom in Pampanga, marking its first branch expansion into Central Luzon. This milestone extended the Group’s presence beyond Subic Bay and created a stronger platform for serving customers throughout the region.

2020

Expansion into Brand-New Truck Parts — AJBM Outlet

The Group expanded into the retail and wholesale distribution of brand-new truck parts through the establishment of the AJBM Outlet. This development broadened the Group’s product offering and strengthened its ability to support customers with essential truck parts and after-sales requirements.

2020

Establishing Our Largest Showroom and Transportation Hub — San Fernando

The Group further expanded its operations by establishing the San Fernando Branch, its largest showroom to date, together with a dedicated transportation hub in San Fernando. The new facility was strategically developed to support the Group’s growing operations and provide the infrastructure required for future expansion.

2025

Expansion into Bulacan

The Group continued strengthening its presence in Central Luzon with the establishment of the Bulacan Branch, expanding its reach and making its commercial vehicles, products and services more accessible to customers across the region.

2025

A New Chapter — New Asahi Trucks

In 2025, New Asahi entered a new era of independent growth, following its separation from Asahi and further developing New Asahi Trucks under the leadership of Group Chairman A.M.M. Hussain. This transition established a clearer platform for modernization, strategic expansion and the development of the Group’s next generation of automotive businesses.

2026

The Launch of Apex Trucks

Building on nearly four decades of automotive experience, Apex Trucks — Powered by New Asahi Group was established as the Group’s modern commercial-truck brand. Apex Trucks brings together the Group’s expertise in international sourcing, truck importation, sales, reconditioning, body fabrication, customization, truck parts and customer support under one strong, modern and forward-looking identity.

2027

The Next Phase — Loading Project

The Group’s continued evolution will advance through the planned Loading Project, representing the next phase of expansion within the New Asahi ecosystem and the further development of its commercial-vehicle and logistics capabilities.
